Shaw Island was the smallest of the islands that we traveled. I believe
it had all of 15 miles of road on it. Here are a couple of shots of
the group on a rest break.

There are about 170 residents. The most unique thing about this island
is that a convent of Nun's has pledged to provide services to the
residents
of the island. Here is a picture of their store. It was the only one
on the island and sold basic groceries as well as gourmet chocolate and other
treats. Additional duties included offering singing lessons, providing
computer training, and greeting the ferry.
Greeting the ferry involved lowering the ramp, charging vehicles for passage,
and keeping general order.
This
particular nun was very efficient at this task. She was especially fond of
saying "Single File!"
As
this picture attests, she was very effective.
